WHO WE ARE

Stichting Hunto is a foundation in Aruba dedicated to basic mental health care, addiction recovery, and social reintegration.

We provide structured treatment, outreach, day shelter services, and therapeutic programs that help individuals rebuild their lives with dignity, stability, and purpose.

Within our recovery programs, we integrate creative and therapeutic activities, including art-based projects, as powerful tools for emotional healing, self-expression, and community connection.

WHAT WE DO

  • Therapeutic Support:
Use creative expression to reduce stress, increase self-awareness, and strengthen emotional resilience.

Art-Based Therapy for Children and Youth

At our child and youth-focused programs, including initiatives at our Caya Appeldam location, we incorporate art-based therapeutic activities to support emotional development.

Objective:
To use creative expression as a supportive tool for improving emotional regulation, confidence, and psychological well-being in children and youth facing mental health challenges.

Goals:

  • Emotional Expression:
Help children express complex feelings safely and creatively.

  • Stress & Anxiety Reduction:
Provide calming techniques through guided creative activities.

  • Self-Confidence Building:
Strengthen self-esteem by completing meaningful creative projects.

  • Improved Communication:
Offer non-verbal ways to communicate thoughts and experiences.

  • Social Skills Development:
Encourage cooperation, patience, and positive interaction through group activities.
