WHO WE ARE
The Let’s Talk Art (LTA) Initiative, led by the Let’s Talk Foundation, is advancing St. Maarten’s creative industry and orange economy by fostering dialogue, collaboration, and visibility among artists and cultural professionals. Supported by Let’s ACT, the initiative serves as a catalyst for creative exchange and professional development across the island’s artistic community.
At its core, LTA focuses on strengthening creative infrastructure and providing consistent opportunities for connection. In 2025, the foundation finalized its legal incorporation and financial framework, and is in the process of developing a dedicated website to act as a hub for engagement and information sharing. LTA also hosts the their Let’s Talk Art Series, where discussions are themed around Creativity Meets Economy — exploring how the arts contribute to sustainable growth and innovation.
Beyond these immediate priorities, the initiative will expand through Creatives Link Up!, a series of networking events designed to connect and inspire St. Maarten’s creative community, and the Let’s Talk Art Series editions planned for late 2025 and 2026. Each edition will tackle themes central to culture, heritage, and evolving creative sector needs. In 2026, the launch of the LTA Podcast and Magazine will continue documenting and celebrating local artistic excellence.
The Let’s Talk Art Initiative is building a lasting platform for St. Maarten’s creative voices — one that nurtures collaboration, highlights artistic talent, and contributes meaningfully to the island’s cultural identity and economic resilience.
WHAT WE DO
The Let’s Talk Art Initiative encompasses community performing events with local artists in the neighborhoods. Mixers and performances by upcoming and established local artists will be given a platform in each collaborating neighborhood. The project aligns with the mission and vision of both the Let’s Talk Foundation and SXM Creatives Guild and will help fostering awareness/collaboration and visibility in the neighborhoods. The budget covers the purchase of (sound) equipment, the coordination, marketing and promoting of the events and the rent of the facilities.
WHO WE SERVE
The neighborhood citizens, children and adults, will benefit directly from the activities. Social cohesion of the neighborhoods is stimulated and art education is spread widely, allowing for people that are not usually exposed to arts, to understand, be immersed and enjoy. Local talent can be discovered and supported.
