WHO WE ARE

Basha Foundation is dedicated to creativity through spoken word, poetry, and performance arts. They’ve been a key voice for cultural expression on the island since 2010.

Their signature Poetry Nights bring together storytellers, poets, and musicians for evenings filled with expression and connection. With themes like Love, Hero, and Rebirth, the series gives people of all ages a stage to share their voice.   

  

WHAT WE DO

1. Poetry Nights 

• Description: Poetry Nights is a series of five evenings featuring diverse poetry, storytelling, spoken word, and performance arts. The goal is to promote creative expression and cultural enrichment within the community. 

• Themes: LOVE, LOSS OF INNOCENCE, HERO, REBIRTH, PRIDE 

• Concepts: Storytelling, Musical Acts, Empathy, Spoken Word 

• Benefits: 

• Unique: Provides unique presentations as communication tools. 

• Bonding: Creates bridges across different age groups. 

• Exposure.

2. Word of Mouth Poetry Night 

• Description: An event held in May 2024, featuring a dynamic blend of poetry, storytelling, spoken word, and performance arts. It aims to cultivate artistic growth and provide a platform for individuals to showcase their material in front of a live audience. 

• Event Program: Includes poet presentations, musical performances, and open mic sessions. 

 

WHO WE SERVE

Offers children, youth, and adults a unique opportunity to participate in creative activities. Exposes talented artists to both the local public and visitors to the island.
