WHO WE ARE

Located in San Nicolas, ArtisA is a creative hub that organizes art lessons, workshops, events, and the famous Aruba Art Fair. They are passionate about building cultural pride and sharing Aruba’s stories through art.

Their work includes weekly art lessons, monthly workshops, and mural projects that transform San Nicolas into an outdoor gallery. With Space21.art, they also support local artisans, combining a gallery, DIY workshop, and shop for handmade crafts.

WHAT WE DO

1. Art Lessons

  • Description: ArtisA offers weekly art lessons for beginners and intermediates. These lessons are led by instructors like Erika Moran and Peter van den Heuvel, who specialize in different aspects of art.

  • Impact: The lessons focus on skill development, artistic expression, and community building, benefiting both the students and the broader community. The variety in programming attracts more students and patrons, enhancing ArtisA’s reputation as a center for artistic learning.

2. Workshops

  • Description: ArtisA conducts monthly workshops featuring over six artists, covering a range of artistic techniques.

  • Impact: These workshops enrich the local culture, foster skill development, build community bonds, and boost tourism. For ArtisA, these workshops enhance reputation, engage the community, and contribute to the gallery's artistic development.

3. Events

  • Description: ArtisA hosts various events, including the Aruba Art Fair, Youth Art Fair, Art Fashion, and Christmas Fair. These events serve as a bridge between the community and the artists.

  • Impact: Events provide opportunities for community engagement, promote diverse artistic expressions, and support the local economy through increased tourism and participation.

4. Mural Projects

  • Description: The "Stories Behind the Murals of 2023" document showcases various murals created during the Aruba Mural Festival. Each mural has a unique story and message, reflecting the artists' interpretations of Aruba's essence.

  • Impact: These murals serve as cultural landmarks, preserving heritage and promoting awareness on various themes. They attract tourists, enhance the aesthetic appeal of San Nicolas, and provide a platform for local and international artists to showcase their work.

5. Space21.art

  • Description: Space21.art is a new venture focusing on crafts and locally made products. It includes a gallery, a merchandise shop, and a DIY workshop area.
